Vacation - Part Three: Grandma's Marathon

Paul ran Grandma's Marathon in Duluth, MN with his two brothers June 16. We are so proud of all of them for finishing! Silas and I rode with Grandpa and Grandma and Joel and Phil's girlfriends to watch the guys run. It was quite the adventure. Another very long day, up at 4:30 and on the go all day, NO NAPS, ahhh! I felt like I had run a marathon by the end too!

The night before the marathon we stayed at Paul's Aunt and Uncle's cabin part way to Duluth. (Paul and his brothers were at a hotel near Duluth.)

Look at Paul go!!!
He always stopped to say hi and get a kiss from his biggest fan!
Silas wore a shirt that said "See Daddy Run... Run, Daddy, Run".

He was so proud of his daddy and uncles.

He had to make sure Daddy's medal was real!

Vacation - Part One: The Drive

We just got back from our trip to Minnesota. We had a wonderful time! Silas travelled well on the 14 hour drive and was able to see a lot of family again.

Here are pictures from the drive out to Minnesota. We stopped at lots of rest stops along the way to run around and play.

Bye, Bye

Sorry no pictures. We are busy packing for our vacation... we leave early Saturday morning for Minnesota. I just wanted to let you all know that yesterday Silas started waving Bye, Bye! He waves bye bye to everyone and everything now. Can't wait to see everyone soon!

His First Sign/Standing!!

Silas has been learning so many new things lately. He has been wanting to eat more finger foods, so the other day I cut up a little sandwich for him. He loved it!

We went for a hike at Waterton Canyon. It was really fun. Silas loved being in the hiking backpack. He was talking and looking around the entire time. He even made a new friend when he said "hey" to a little kid walking by.

Here, he was emptying his entire bin of toys. How fun!!!
Silas doesn't believe that anyone should wear a hat. He always pulls everyone's hats off. He thinks it is such a fun game.
Here's Silas laughing (or possibly squealing) like crazy next to his turtle.
(FYI: The wet spot on his pants is from spitting up.)

Today Silas did his first sign. We have been working on sign language since shortly after he was born. Today he signed milk when he was hungry. How crazy that he can "talk" to us now. Also today Silas stood up without support for the first time. It wasn't for long but he did it about four times... he is going to be walking around before we know it, maybe by the time we get home from vacation.

Only five more days until we leave for Minnesota.
