Week 27

Well, I am part way through the 27th week, just starting out the third trimester. I think the first day of the third trimester I instantly became more tired again. Three flights of stairs up to our apartment is getting to be harder and harder, thankfully Paul gives me a little push when we are together. I have been having a lot of Braxton Hicks contractions, they are just practice contractions to get ready for the big day. They don't hurt but they do feel kind of strange, my belly gets so rock hard.

According to the books the baby's eyes are open now and all of the organs are functioning, except the lungs but they are ready to go if they would need to. The baby is about 2 lbs and 14-15 inches long. Pretty long and skinny!

Here is a belly shot from Saturday:

MN & WI

Well, we are in the middle of the week that my family goes on the annual vacation to Boyd Lodge in Northern Minnesota, or as the locals say, Up North. (Note: in Wisconsin it is pronounced "Up Nort'.") It is always an incredibly fun time filled with lots of swimming, fishing, turtle racing, volleyballing, teasing Phil about girlfriends and just general relaxing.

We were not able to make it this year. Needless to say, Jess and I are really wishing we could be there. Colorado is great, but we also miss the Midwest quite a lot. Besides our family and friends, here are two things in particular that we miss about MN/WI:
