Four Months!

Silas is already Four Months Old! He went in for his four month appointment yesterday. His doctor said he is doing really well and is even advanced in his physical development. His prediction is that Silas will be sitting up in less than a month and crawling by the time he is 6 months... we'll have to see if he is right.

The doctor gave us the okay to start rice cereal. Today was our first attempt. Silas wasn't the biggest fan, so we will keep on trying!

We couldn't believe how much Silas has grown since his last (2 month) appointment. He grew 4 inches in 2 months! His doctor was so amazed he wanted to double check the measurements! He has definantly caught up.

Here are his new stats:

Height: 25 1/2 inches (75%)
Weight: 13 lbs 9 oz (30%)
Head: 17 inches (77%)

So he is long and skinny with a big head!

And here are some cute pictures of the kiddo:

Silas' First Christmas

Here are some pictures from our family Christmas celebration. It was a lot of fun to have Silas there, although he won't remember this year.

Our Christmas Vacation

Over Christmas and New Years we were able to come back to the Midwest to visit family and a few friends! We were back for 10 busy days filled with lots of travel and new faces for Silas. Silas did better than we had even expected! Here are some pictures:

Our first stop was at Grandma Sara's house in Minneapolis, where we saw Aunt Erica and Uncle John

Next we went to visit Grandpa and Grandma Bratsch. While we were their we saw Uncle Joel, Uncle Phil, Jenna, and Toby, the biggest dog ever, who liked to play with Silas' toys. While we were there we also went to meet Great Grandma Jenneke and lots of Great Uncles and Aunts and other relatives (we forgot our camera)

Our fourth stop was in Rubicon, WI where we visited Great-Great Grandma Budhan, Great Grandpa and Grandma Siegmann along with many Great Uncles and Aunts and lots of other relatives.

Here is a Five Generation Picture:

All the new Moms and Babies

(Ashley and Suzannah, Jessica and Emily , Me and Silas, and Kelly and Lily)

Our fifth stop was at Grandpa Dan's house, Silas loved all the red balls on the tree!

While we were there Great-Grandma Brady and lots of Great Uncles and Aunts and other relatives came to visit. Here is a four generation picture with Great-Grandma Brady!
Our last leg was in LaCrosse where we had a short visit with a couple friends. Here is a picture of Jed and Silas (they were talking to eachother and being so cute) just after I took this picture Silas started screaming, apparently Jed said something he didn't like.

And that wraps up our tour of the midwest. The visit was fun but it was also too short. Sorry if we missed anyone, we will try to get back sometime again soon. (Also, if you have any pictures from places where we forgot our camera, please e-mail them to us! Thanks!)

Snowed In

I remember when Minnesota and Wisconsin used to get snow. Over a period of about 30 hours, we got over 2 feet of snow here in Littleton. Here are some pictures to prove it.
First, a series entitled "Diving Off of a Picnic Table"
Bellyflop
Front Flip
Austin's "Flying Wombat" Move
Before
After
Our Family
Our Car
Yep. Lots o' snow. We were pretty much stuck in our apartment for a few days, other than a daring rescue attempt of our neighbor's pregnant wife from her job at Target.
P.S. We hope to see many of you very soon! We head back this Saturday.

Another Milestone!

Silas rolled over today for the first time! He was just enjoying some tummy time and as he was kicking his leg, he rolled himself onto his back. He did this three times in a row! One of his new favorite things to do is to look at pictures of babies. He stares at himself in the mirror for about 10-15 minutes just smiling. He also loves to look at a picture of Suzannah that we have on our refrigerator. It will be exciting for him to meet everyone over Christmas.

Here are some new pictures from the past week or so:

Silas is getting so good at batting at his toys that he can do it without looking and with one hand behind his head!

Here is Silas just chillin'... he is wearing his 3-6 Month clothes now!
Here he is with Daddy, Silas is looking more like Paul every day!
Mommy, come join me in the bath!
Here is Silas with the Christmas presents (mainly for him) also wearing his new winter shirt from Great Grandma Siegmann! Chewing on his ball (Paul's favorite toy too!) He also really likes to suck on the bear from Phil and Jenna, especially his ear!

3 Months

Well, it's that time of year again-- the time when babies turn 3 months old. The following are things that apparently happen when you are 3 months old.

1. You get a pretty bad cold and a fever and your parents have to take you to the E.R. because it's the Saturday after Thanksgiving. (Silas is doing fine now. He is still pretty stuffed up though.)

2. You have about 3 "blowouts" per day.

3. You flash big gummy grins pretty often.

4. You find out at the E.R. that you weigh 11 lbs. 11 oz. (He is also 22 inches long.)

5. You finally have reversed your male pattern baldness. Now there is hair in the front, but it is rubbing off in the back.

6. You can suck either thumb if you work at it long enough.

7. Being naked is now a favorite pasttime.

8. You become a drool factory.

And now, on to the pictures/videos...

No, he's not getting spanked, he's just playing.

Naked and loving it.

2 1/2 Months Old!

Wow! Silas is 2 1/2 months old already. He is growing really fast. Silas loves to bat around at his toys now, he is getting pretty good at it. A few days ago Grandma Sara came to visit. It seemed like Silas exploded (developmentally) that weekend. He finally found his thumb, he was very pleased about this... and we are happy too that he is starting to be able to soothe himself and get himself back to sleep. Also that weekend he started smiling even more. Grandma got a smile within the first 2 minutes and he just kept flashing those gummy grins. Also, Paul and I went on a date and left Silas home with Grandma Sara. Durring that time he took a bottle, his 4th one ever, and it sounds like he did a little better with it this time. Then, the big news! Silas slept 9 hours and he has done it several times since then!

Now what you have all been waiting for:

Silas loves to take a bath now and will usually end up splashing around in the water.

Story Time! (Silas fell asleep)

(More pictures to come, it wouldn't allow me to add any more)
