A Developmental Explosion!

Silas is 13 months old today!
A lot has happened this month:
*Silas' 12 Month Stats:
*Height: 29 1/4 inches (30%)
*Weight: 19 lbs 1/2 oz (8%) (He is still rear facing in the car)
*Head: 18 3/4 inches (78%)

*Silas started walking and running on his own... there is no stopping him now!

*I have had to do some serious baby-proofing

*Silas got his first tooth! His bottom left tooth just broke through a couple days ago and it looks like the right one is not far behind.

*Silas is saying about 30 or so words (that Paul and I understand)

*Silas said his first 2 word phrase (DeeDa PPhhh*spitting*) Translation: Daddy made an elephant noise that sounded like Ppphhh.

*Silas got his first (and second) bumps on his head.

*We got a family picture taken.

And now for some pictures:

Last weekend we went hiking at Devil's Head Lookout Tower. It is a fire tower where you can see for about 100 miles on a clear day! It was amazing. Silas had to touch every tree and rock going up and down. Paul and I took turns carrying him on our backs. (The pictures are a little out of order)

Silas was a little wiped out after the hike!

Our friend Allison Youngren took some family pictures for us and Silas' one year pictures (here are afew)

Wisconsin and The First Piece of Cake!!!

We recently went back to Wisconsin to celebrate my grandparents 50th wedding anniversary. We had a wonderful time. While we were there we were able to see a lot of family and a couple friends.

Silas on the airplane... he did great! He slept for at least part of each trip which helped a lot. He had a great time emptying out the pocket on the seat in front of us.Happy 1st Birthday Silas! We celebrated with family. Silas got to eat his first piece of cake... he loved it (of course) and hasn't been too crazy about veggies since.

We were able to visit my my friend Jaclyn who I hadn't seen in years. It was so nice to see her again.Silas loved her dog MochaSince our trip, Silas has been obsessed with dogs so for his birthday we let him pick out a stuffed dog. He loves it! We are trying to get him attached to it and it seems it may not be too difficult. He sleeps with it, carries it around, and chews on its tail!

11 Months

Our internet is working again! It was out for two weeks. So now to catch up in posts.

Silas is 11 1/2 months old. His 11 month stats were:

Length: 29 1/2 inches
Weight: 18 lbs 10 oz. (the 7th percentile!)
You would think we don't feed this kid but sometimes he eats as much as I do!

Eating Spaghetti Casserole! He loves this stuff, it is so nice that he can eat just about everything we do. We let him try fish for the first time yesterday, he really liked it, although I think he was a bit confused by the name... its the same as those cute animals he loves so much!
Walking around with Esther, one of the older girls on campus. She just adores Silas.
Grandpa and Grandma Bratsch came to visit last week. Silas had a great time with them and was just starting to get comfortable again when it was time for them to go home.
Grandpa and Grandma Bratsch took us to the Aquarium. Silas loved it! He really enjoyed all the fish, turtles, and birds.

He is pointing at a duck that kept diving under water.
He wanted to get in the tank with it!
The Duck

Silas loves books. He sits and reads all the time and always wants us to read him his stories.

Isaiah just turned 1. We had a lot of fun at his birthday party!

Happy Birthday Isaiah!
Aren't boxes great:

Silas got a new train from Grandma Sara for his birthday! He loves it, thanks Grandma.

Isaiah came over to play, Silas was showing him all the fun things to do at our house.
Such as playing with his new train...
and emptying the kitchen cupboards!

So that is it for now, we can't wait to see some of you this weekend when we come back to Wisconsin!
